I've been updating weekly like a fucking pro! Are you guys happy? Because I sure as fuck am.

Today, I haz a recipe. Yep. Made up off of the top of the dome piece by my own self. God, I'm amazing.

Here I am modeling the deliciousness of this dessert...I made it for my aunt's superbowl party and it was a hit, as usual. I only make the best shit around, people. I thought you knew...

Okey dokey.

Vegan Chocolate Cream Pie by SNorine (moi)

12 oz melted vegan chocolate chips (I personally LOVE dark chocolate chips)

1 Tbsp agave nectar

12 oz (or 1 tetrapack) silken tofu

1 pre-made vegan pie crust

Process the first 3 ingredients until smooth like pudding. Pour into pie crust and refrigerate for at least an hour. Simple right? That's just how I do.

Also! My good friend and co-host of Midwest Vegan Radio, a kickass, FREE vegan podcast on iTunes, turned another year older! Happy birthday Ryan! My friend, Melissa and Chelsea (who was just on the last episode of the radio show btdubs), made vegan "unicorn shit" cookies and vegan whoopie pies for the Moksha Yoga party Ryan threw for everyone. Both were amazingly delish.

To celebrate Ryan's birthday, a hoard of vegan (and non-vegans) enjoyed a delicious meal at Urban Eatery in Minneapolis. Here's what I had!:

That is the roasted veggie sammy with a side of sweet potato fries. This place is really nice because although the vegan options are not labeled, they are completely open to making sure every part of your meal is vegan down to the very last morsel. Kickass! And of course the sammy was delectable. Psh. Like I'd eat anything that wasn't.

MIDWEST VEGAN RADIO!

Heyyyyy guys.

I wanted to plug for the vegan podcast show that I'm the "networking administrator" (cough groupie cough) for. And to prove to you that you need to download the podcast (for free!!!) from iTunes, here is Ryan listening to the podcast from a squash and Dallas approving the entire thing. They are the hosts of the show and are clearly kickass.

Chicago! And stuff.

So the boyfren and I went to Chicago this last weekend. He visited a friend while I went to Chicago Vegan Mania to promote Midwest Vegan Radio. We ended up staying a night with his friend and his friend's girlfriend, which was super nice. We had a night on the town and saw some good music be played by some Chicago-based bands. Wicked.

I stopped a few places on the way, namely the new Native Foods and Bleeding Heart Bakery.

Native Foods was first. We stopped for lunch and here's what we had yo!:

My vegan fish tacos were excellent. His vegan dish was indian curry-ish, which is not my fave but the tempeh was seasoned nicely so that's a plus.

Then! I headed to Vegan Mania, promoted the shit out of the radio show and walked to Bleeding Heart Bakery. Here's what I got (pssst, everything was pretty phenomenal):

That would be a chocolate peanut butter brownie and a hazelnut cakeball. Totally where it's at if you ask me. I also got the boy a banana brownie and my mother a rocky road brownie, both vegan and unfortunately not pictured here. Yummmmm.

I had a good time. Traveling with the boyfren was the best part in my opinion though! I know, barf. Whatever.

ATTENTION MINNESOTA VEGANS: Donut Cooperative is now open for business in the old Cake Eater Space. Get your vegan donuts now I says!

There are some sweet things coming up in my life that I just want you know about!

I am going to be heading to Chicago Vegan Mania on Saturday November 5th! Woop! If you are in the midwest, I tell you what. Ok ok. So everyone knows I like wine right? WELL.

When one has drank too much wine and then wakes up in Minneapolis somewhere wanting to bike to a place that's close and provides a good ol' cup of coffee and possibly some sweetass vegan flapjacks, there are a few places in the Twin Cities that I would recommend for the complete hangover cure. And you don't even need to get all spruced up for these places either-you can come in as smelly and hungover as you want.

These are, in no particular order:

1. Triple Rock Social Club (for the weekend brunch)

2. Hard Times Cafe

3. Bad Waitress

4. Seward Cafe!

You've heard me blab on this thing enough about numbers 1-3, but number 4 on my list also does a damn good job as I found out the other day.

Here's what I had!:

The vegan pancakes at Seward Cafe are the closest thing to pancakes I remember having at Denny's or Perkins when I was a kid. Good stuff. You should go and check 'er out. Yap. I'm out!

Well, let's see...

I've been super duper busy!

1. Been interning for Midwest Vegan Radio and I'm having a freaking awesome time doing it. Check them out on the facebook and be sure to "like" us!

2. Just finishing up school here (one more class, yusssss) and then onto better things!

3. Done with the state job. Hopefully I'll get another one here soon. *crosses fingers*

4. Going to be moving in two months! To where, I'm not sure yet.

5. Been writing for Richfield Patch and it is really great experience for what I (kind of) want to do eventually.

Haven't been eating out too much because of the current financial sitch, but...

I have, however, been to Galactic Pizza in the last week and it was pretty delish, as always. We had a half vegan pizza bianca and half vegan bbq chicken pizza with Daiya on top. Yum! It was also pretty fun because their menu was 3D.

Galactic Pizza is an environmentally-conscious pizza joint with outside seating and is wind-powered! All of their delivery guys drive in electric cars too. Preeetttty awesome.

Anyways, that's been my life in the last week. Currently trying to find a jorb-I'm hopeful one will come along soon!

Forks Over Knives!

Midwest Vegan Radio, this really kickass vegan podcast that I'm interning for received tickets from Paramount to see Forks Over Knives for free. They made this wonderful opportunity possible by letting us have a code that got each person that used it two free passes to get into a sneak screening of the movie. I just biked home from the sneak screening in Minneapolis and let me just say...

IT WAS AWESOME. But let me explain...

I do want my family to see it-like EVERYONE in my family. I really think that it makes the idea that many vegan-centered films tried to communicate so much more simple, this being the idea that a plant-based diet is effective in reducing and in most cases reversing chronic health problems caused by the standard American diet.

I'm really glad I went. I got to hang out with my vegan posse, chat it up with my date-Dave-who's a pretty kickass person that I'm very glad to know and basically watch a film that only solidified further my reason for eating the way I do.

Everyone should see this movie! Go see it now! I mean it, fucking NOW!
